The Leader Manager

Competitive organizations require executives to integrate both managerial and leadership skills; visionary leaders who can master change, develop a vision to which people can commit, provide a framework for growth, and create a supportive environment. This integration requires an expert – and sometimes contradictory – balance of attention between profits and services, growth and stability, vision and strategy, improvement and innovation, consistency and versatility, and accountability and alignment. Leaders must define and promote their vision, but also have the skills to manage its implementation. By empowering their employees, leaders create a work environment that encourages shared responsibility and rewards, where people work together to achieve performance and fulfilment.

THE LEADER MANAGER: ACHIEVING PERFORMANCE WITH FULFILLMENT

The Leader Manager: Achieving Performance with Fulfillment focuses on the complex and paradoxical leadership issues of today’s business environment. The skills leaders develop in this program will help them create and sustain work units characterized by excellence, adaptability, and continuous learning.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Leader Manager is a two-day program that provides a framework and skills for leaders to enable their work units to achieve performance with fulfillment – the combination of high performance and high satisfaction from meaningful work done well. Participants will gain a greater understanding of their own behaviors and develop skills to effectively lead in one-to-one and group situations. The learning experience is enhanced by the use of the Leader Manager Inventory, a multi-rater instrument designed to provide managers with feedback about how the people who report to them and their manager perceive their leadership behavior. It provides leaders with personalized feedback and development planning. Participants learn five leader manager practices that will help them ensure employees experience performance with fulfillment.
